Exactly Why

My life is a thousand lies.
It's shrouded in heavy black.
Can't seem to find my path.
I'm feeling so lost.
Trying to find the point,
Between what is good and wrong.

And when she asks me,
What I really mean
About me being lost.
I don't know how to answer,
But deep down inside,
I know she knows exactly why.

Because she's seen me at break point.
When I've done the wrong for right.
And she understood why
Even though I can't
And I love her even more.
I can't let her die.
This one is set during the "I feel lost" scene in Episode Three.

Anakin's POV. He realises that Padmé understands him better then she realises.

I've made references in this poem. The second line refers to Darth Vader.

The part about Anakin doing wrong for good is a reference to Episode Two when Padmé finds him after he killed the sand people to avenge his mother and this is the focus point of the poem, the fact that she understood him there and that he'd fought between his anger and being a Jedi. This happens again in Episode Three where she understands him again when he feels lost, and Anakin is able to put his finger on it, a reverse of what happened in Episode Two.

The last line is show Anakin slipping towards the dark side of the force because of love; he's found a new reason to try and save Padmé.

I like it. It does a great job of show how, underneath the arrogance, desperation, ambition, and love, he's a complete psychopath. Like a blanket thrown over a piece of equipment, a bit peeking out here and there.
