Literature Text

I count the minutes ticking by
Like hours into days into years.
Force, let him live,
Please let him survive,
He's only young!
The new of the Jedi.
Luke! He cannot die!

I've lost Padme to childbirth,
Lost Leia to the war path.
I won't lose Luke to a speeder crash.
They won't let me see him.
I won't get in the way,
I just need to hold him
Assure him he's safe.

The doors are tight shut.
The droids are at work,
Tell me of news they promised
As minutes tick like hours
Luke's scream unsubsiding
Burning a hole in my mind.
We cannot survive without him.

Luke is my boy
My son
My blood
Along with my brother and daughter
Obi-Wan and sweet Leia
My last of kin they are.
Please Force, let Luke survive.
This is the first of several poems based around a little senario I thought up: the Save Luke! senario. I couldn't be bothered to do a fan fic so I thought I'd do it in a series of poem.

The story line goes a such:

Anakin doesn't go to the darkside, he kills Sideous and he becomes a hero. Skippping on, Padmé dies in childbirth as Anakin foresaw and is left to raise Luke and Leia with Obi-Wan's help. Skipping on when the twins turn sixteen Anakin has troubles with Leia and she stops talking to him, about the same time Luke is involved in a speeder crash and is seriously injured. And I won't reveal anymore.

This poem is about Anakin and his position as a struggling father, how he feels hopeless and weak. He still hasn't got over Padmé's death and the war against Leia is draining him. He is emotionally all over the place and only wants Luke to survive.
