Vegeta was regretting promising to look after Trunks for the day, and he mentally berated himself for not asking his mother-in-law to take over.

Realizing that he couldn't train all day as Bulma would kill him for not taking proper care of his son, Vegeta decided to ask Trunks what he wanted to do, and the demi-saiyan had replied cheerfully that he wanted to go to the cinema.

So Vegeta disappeared to get changed leaving Trunks to bounce around the living room in excitement, yelling out different movies they could watch at the local cinema.

After deliberately taking his time just to wind up Trunks, he emerged from his and Bulma's bedroom, picked up his wallet, grabbed Trunks by the scruff of his neck and left the house.

Trunks calmed down a little when Vegeta let go of him, chuckling when Trunks landed flat on his face and whined about it.

After threatening to take him back, Trunks behaved himself.

The pair walked alongside each other quite happily.

"So, what movie are we going to watch?" Vegeta asked.

"I don't know! There's so many good ones out at the moment," Trunks replied.

"Like what?"

"The Green Hornet! Goten saw that movie with Gohan, they said it was really cool!"

"Sounds like Cell's movie star cousin. What else?"

"Contagion?" Trunks offered.

"Are you trying to kill me, Son?" Vegeta asked him crossly.

"It's just a movie, Dad!" Trunks protested.

"We're not watching it! What other junk is out at the moment?" Vegeta asked.

"Super 8?"

Vegeta looked at Trunks like he'd lost his mind.

"You made that up!" Vegeta spat at him.

"No I didn't!" Trunks retaliated.

"It sounds cheesy, what else is there?"

"X-Men: First Class?"

"Definately not! What else?" Vegeta demanded.

Trunks knew better than to argue when his father had that tone of voice.

"Cowboys & Aliens?"

"What?!"

Vegeta stopped dead in his tracks.

"Okay..." Trunks said sheepishly, "maybe not that movie."

Vegeta growled and continued walking.

"Sucker Punch?" Trunks offered.

"What's that about?" Vegeta asked.

"It's about a bunch of kick ass girls," Trunks told him.

"Humans?"

"Humans."

"God dammit!" Vegeta swore, "no, we are definitely not watching that. We are saiyans, we are the strongest in the universe!"

"No need for the lecture, Dad, I've heard it a hundred times," Trunks replied.

"And you'll hear it another hundred times if you mention that movie again!" Vegeta threatened.

They neared the entrance to the cinema. Trunks noticed the posters. One was for the latest Harry Potter film. Trunks knew that his father had watched the other Harry Potter films and had seemed to enjoy them.

"Hey, Dad? What about Harry Potter?" Trunks asked him.

"Very well," Vegeta agreed.

"Yay!" Trunks yelled as he punched the air.

Trunks laughed at the next poster they walked past.

"Hey, Dad! It's a film about your home planet!" Trunks laughed.

Vegeta looked at the poster. It was for The Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes. Vegeta clenched his hands into fists.

Trunks had just stepped over the line big style...

This is funny~! I do feel sorry for Trunks for that remark, it was a little to cheeky, you'd think he'd know better~!

The dialogue that you wrote seems more fitting for teen Trunks (whom kid Trunks becomes) from the end of the Z series where they go to the tournament and Goku and Uub tear up the ring?
Only because it seems a little bit more ummmm mature and not so childish at times.
I know that the inspiration has Kid Trunks in it but, it feels like you could have gotten away with it being teen Trunks to, because it seems to me like teen Trunks would say something cheeky like that, being a 17-18 year old....you know how teenagers are, right? XD
